Here is the list of the Top 10 Celebrities Controversies moments we rocked in 2018;
10) Olamide Called Out For His Lyrics
Olamide Baddo, Voice of the Street as he is also known was called out several times for immature musical lyrics which leads to tragic happenings in the society. It was when he released a track with former YBNL member Lil Kesh that the street couldn’t take it any longer.
With the lyrics of “I dey pray to Jesu, ko wo wole o, If money no enter I go do blood money o…”, The YBNL general was massively called out to the point the crowd declared his annual OLIC concert cancelled, although it later turned successful anyways.
9) Falz vs. MURIC
Falz’s‘This Is Nigeria’ was an excellent act of work, depicting the bad works of a society we live in, with the fallible tendencies we condone and it was a creative home run. Sadly, it’s both the age of pointless outrage and offence and The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) duly came up trumps in due time.
They claimed that Falz generalized his perception of Muslims and portrayed Muslim girls in a bad light in the video for the aforesaid song. Being a severely tribalistic country, with religious divides, constantly competing for attention, it quickly became a religious issue as MURIC wanted the video taken down.
The conversations became sensitive and people chose sides. While Falz later reportedly sued MURIC, the conversations on that day revealed a different side to Nigeria; a side that should scare the average man enough to make him pray against a widespread civil war or religious crisis.
